MAKE YOUR OWN FACIAL TONER – HOW TO DO IT RIGHT!

Make your own facial toner? Yes that works! Also individually tailored to the respective skin type. But is it always better than a store-bought facial toner? I'll not only explain to you how it's done, but also what you need to pay attention to and what the difference is to a manufactured facial toner.

WHY IS FACIAL TONER SO IMPORTANT?

Facial toner is important to remove residues such as lime from the water. In addition, the tissue and microcirculation should be stimulated. Depending on your preference and type of facial toner, it can also be used to shrink pores, reduce pimples or soothe the skin.

HOW CAN I MAKE FACIAL TONER MYSELF?

Gesichtswasser selbst machen

The basics

Very important and the basis of every facial toner is distilled water, which you can find in every drugstore. This is often sold as ironing water and can also be used. The second basis is plant ingredients from the health food store in the form of tea bags. Since facial toner that you make yourself doesn't have a particularly long shelf life, I recommend briefly boiling a maximum of 200ml of the distilled water. Then put the tea bag in and let it steep for up to half an hour, unlike normal tea.

Soothing facial toner

You can also buy aloe vera water and add a teaspoon and shake well. Place in a clean jar and close tightly - you should pay attention to cleanliness and hygiene here! And then it's best to put it in the fridge. My tip: works with cucumber water too!

Facial toner for combination skin

To do this, peel a piece of cucumber and put it in the blender. Mix the cucumber pulp with a tablespoon of lemon juice and the distilled water. Shake well and you have refreshing water. Again, place it tightly closed in the fridge. The basis is always the same - but you can vary the tea bags such as hammer balm or chamomile. A nice mix together too.

Facial toner for large-pored or impure skin

If you have large-pored, impure skin, I recommend working with green tea. Also add half a tablespoon of lemon water.

WHAT ABOUT ALCOHOLIC FACIAL TONERS?

I don't recommend making alcoholic facial toners yourself. In general, any “drinking alcohol” works – there are women who add 50 ml of gin or vodka. Of course, the high-quality facial toners always contain some ethanol, which you can get in the pharmacy.
That would be the nicer option. However, apple cider vinegar is highly recommended for combination skin! Add 50 ml apple cider vinegar and 150 ml distilled water here. If the skin has very large pores, add a small teaspoon of healing clay. However, you can feel it a little on your skin. But if you let it dry, it will refine the pores. If you have too much healing clay, you can remove it with a cotton pad soaked in distilled water.

My tip

It is essential to go to the health food store so that the products are not contaminated. This is particularly important with tea tree oil, for example. Add approx. 10 drops of this to the basic mixture.

BENEFITS OF A FINISHED FACIAL TONER?

A finished facial toner simply lasts longer and active ingredients such as blue oil from chamomile, which is very soothing, can only be produced using a biotechnical process. This means a stronger effect with higher quality facial toners.
