ONTO AUTUMN: THE OPTIMAL SKIN CARE IN THE TRANSITION PERIOD

Summer is followed by autumn, the temperatures drop and the days become shorter again. For the skin this means: time to get used to it! You can find out how you can make the transition to the cooler season easier for her, which products are particularly good for her in the transition phase and how you can maintain your summer glow in our current magazine article.

Everything you need to know about your skin's needs after summer

As soon as you come back from your summer vacation, the first signs of autumn appear. But even late summer often spoils us with lots of sun and mild temperatures. To ensure that the summer tan and the refreshed radiance are retained for as long as possible, it is important to take special skin needs into account when caring for skin in the transitional period:

This is how summer affects our skin

  • Not only the sun, but also chlorine and salt water, wind and air conditioning can take a toll on the skin and deprive it of moisture.
  • To protect itself from increased exposure to sunlight, the skin forms a so-called light callus, a thickened stratum corneum. This can make it feel rough and also makes it “flaky” more.
  • UV radiation causes so-called free radicals to form, which attack the skin's own collagen structure. There is a loss of strength. The skin reacts to this by forming wrinkles and the complexion appears tired and sagging.
  • Pigmentation spots or other sun-related skin irritations can also be an undesirable “side effect” of increased sun exposure.

Care for your skin properly in autumn

Type-appropriate skin care is of course an issue all year round, but especially after summer, the skin appreciates special attention.

  • In order to maintain a tanned complexion as well as the suppleness of sun-stressed skin, care products are required that provide a lot of moisture. Active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, aloe vera or algae extracts provide the skin with moisture even in the deeper layers and strengthen its natural moisture retention power.

A peeling makes the skin shine because it frees it of dead cells and refines the pores. Peelings also stimulate blood circulation in the skin and support its natural regeneration process. A peeling treatment, for example with the fruit acid peel pads from Dr. Dennis Gross gives your complexion maximum luminosity after the summer.

After peeling, the skin is particularly receptive. Care ingredients can now penetrate the skin optimally. The top priority now is to provide moisture. You can achieve a particularly quick and lasting care effect with so-called moisture boosters.

  • Serums, ampoules or highly concentrated essences such as those from the Maria Galland series also provide the skin with lasting care during the transition period.
  • Even after the summer, avoid using care products that are too rich. In autumn it is usually not so cold that the skin needs a protective lipid film. A moisturizing treatment, on the other hand, strengthens the skin wonderfully against environmental influences and climate changes.
  • Moisturizing masks are particularly good for the skin because their care ingredients can penetrate into the deeper layers of the skin. The Peter Thomas Roth Camu Camu Brightening Sleeping Mask, for example, contains all the power of the Camu Camu berry, a superfruit from the Amazon region that contains 30x more vitamin C than an orange! The moisturizing mask has a brightening, firming effect, reduces redness and pigmentation and soothes the skin. The Hydra-Pure Vitamin C Brightening Serum from Dr. Dennis Gross works against visible signs of skin aging and fights skin-damaging free radicals thanks to three forms of highly effective vitamin C.
  • Sun-related hyperpigmentation can also be specifically reduced with the right products. Ingredients such as vitamin C, salicylic acid or zinc lighten spots and also optimize the skin's firmness. With long-term use of lightening care products over a period of at least 3 months, the skin can regenerate optimally and the increased stored melanin, which is responsible for hyperpigmentation, can gradually be broken down.
  • Use active ingredients in your day and night care that strengthen the skin from the inside out and help to build up its collagen structure. Our product recommendation against visible wrinkles and sagging contours: the Thalgo silicon cream enriched with maritime silicon or the DermaFlavon Phyto Lifting Cream from Med Beauty Swiss, which plumps up fine lines from the inside out.

Enjoy the golden season and pamper your skin with everything it needs for the transitional period. We would be happy to advise you on the selection of suitable cleaning and care products with which you can take your summer-beautiful skin with you into autumn.
